How we work.

See how Severn assesses a requirement, establishes the method and controls the route from product receipt to finished output.

A DEFINED METHOD

What is agreed before production.

A clear method creates the basis for quotation, production, checking and review.

01

Product and inputs

Product specification, condition, quantities, supplied components and required finished state.

02

Process and equipment

Preparation, handling, machinery, people, materials and production sequence.

03

Quality controls

Samples, count, presentation, seal or pack checks and handling of exceptions.

04

Onward route

Storage, reporting, fulfilment, pallet, trade or parcel despatch.

EQUIPMENT AVAILABLE

Specialist machinery within a wider operational service.

Equipment is selected only where it suits the product, required output and commercial basis.

Automated baggingSuitable components, fixings, accessories, kits and repeatable small products; printed information can be assessed where required.
Shrink wrappingIndividual products, grouped formats, multipacks and suitable protective or presentation applications.
Contract-packing stationsPreparation, inspection, assembly, labelling, packing and finished-output checks.
Storage and stock handlingReceipt, identification, controlled holding and release into production or fulfilment.
EXAMPLE REQUIREMENTS

Representative project structures—not invented case studies.

These anonymous examples illustrate how a requirement may be structured. They do not claim customer-specific results.

REPEAT COMPONENT PACKING

Loose components into consistent counted packs

Potential route: product and count assessment, sample trial, bag and printed-information definition, production checks and packed-output release.

Key suitability points: component size and shape, feeding behaviour, count accuracy, bag format and repeat volumes.

RETAIL OR TRADE MULTIPACK

Several products combined into a defined finished unit

Potential route: goods receipt, inspection, collation, shrink-wrapping or outer packing, presentation checks and pallet or parcel preparation.

Key suitability points: product stability, heat sensitivity, finished presentation, quantities and onward handling.

CONNECTED FULFILMENT

Stock prepared, held and released against orders

Potential route: stock receipt, preparation or kitting, location control, order processing, final checks and onward despatch.

Key suitability points: SKU profile, order pattern, stock data, service levels, carrier route and exception handling.

QUALITY AND CHECKING

Checks matched to the agreed output.

  • Incoming quantity and visible-condition checks where agreed
  • Approved sample or finished-pack specification
  • Count, component and label checks
  • Seal, wrap or presentation checks where relevant
  • Recording and escalation of exceptions
  • Final quantity and onward-route confirmation
PRACTICAL LIMITS

Suitability is established before commitment.

  • Products and components must be sufficiently defined
  • Representative samples may be required
  • Machinery suitability depends on size, shape, finish and behaviour
  • Volumes and frequency affect the commercial method
  • Customer instructions must define regulated or product-specific checks
  • Timescales depend on inputs, materials, trial needs and capacity
