What is contract packing?

Contract packing is the outsourcing of product preparation and packing to a specialist provider. It can include bagging, shrink wrapping, kitting, assembly, labelling, rework, quality checking and preparing finished products for storage or despatch.

Can Severn provide packing without full fulfilment?

Yes. Severn can support a defined packing, labelling or rework project without taking over storage, order processing or customer despatch. Services can also be connected when a broader operation is required.

Can specialist packing be included within fulfilment?

Yes. Automated bagging, shrink wrapping, kitting, labelling, product protection and other agreed processes can be completed before stock is stored or orders are despatched.

What products are suitable for automated bagging?

Automated bagging can suit many components, spare parts, kits and repeat product lines. Suitability depends on dimensions, weight, shape, handling characteristics, volumes and the required finished pack, so an assessment or trial may be recommended.

What can be shrink wrapped?

Shrink wrapping can be used for suitable individual products, multipacks, grouped items and repeat production runs. Product shape, heat sensitivity, presentation, film and the onward handling route all need to be considered.

Does Severn offer kitting and assembly?

Yes. Components can be received, checked and brought together in a defined sequence to create kits, multipacks or finished assemblies, with agreed checking and onward packing steps.

Can Severn store and distribute stock?

Yes, where storage forms part of an agreed packing, order-preparation, call-off or fulfilment process. Capacity and handling requirements are confirmed against the actual stock profile.

What information is needed for a quotation?

A useful brief normally includes the product or SKU list, dimensions and weights, quantities, required finished state, packaging or labelling instructions, expected frequency, storage needs and the intended onward route. Samples or photographs can help with the initial review.

Where is Severn Fulfilment based?

Severn Fulfilment is based in Malvern, Worcestershire and supports manufacturers, product businesses, ecommerce brands and other customers across the UK.

How do I find out whether my project is suitable?

Share the product, volumes, current process, required outcome and timing. Severn will review the operational fit and identify any samples, trials or additional information needed before a method is agreed.

Have a question about a specific product?

Send the product details, quantities and required outcome for an initial operational review.
